Warren A. Hughes, age 86, of Quincy, died on Monday, July 17, 2023 in Quincy Healthcare and Senior Living. Warren was born on April 1, 1937 in Wilkes-Barre, PA the son of John and Josephine (Infuleski) Hughes. He married Rose (Patrick) Tynes in 2008. The couple met at the New York City Public Library where she was a librarian.

Warren was employed by UPS and as a doorman in New York City on Park Avenue, where he met many famous actors, actresses and sports figures. He had a bubbly personality and loved talking to people.

Warren served in the US Army. He liked playing basketball and watching football. He enjoyed reading, especially mysteries. Warren also had a beautiful singing voice.

He is survived by his wife, Rose, children: Wayne Hughes of Quincy and Belinda (Stephen) Cullo of Quincy, a foster son, stepchildren: Brian Robinson of Delaware and Diane Smith of New York, two grandchildren and step grandchildren also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, John Hughes.

Cremation rites will be accorded followed by a memorial service at the First Baptist Church on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Messages may be shared online at www.dukerandhaugh.com.
