Wanda Lee Brown

Wanda Lee Brown, age 70, of Hull, died Saturday (Jan 26, 2013) in Blessing Hospital. Wanda was born on August 16, 1942, in Quincy, a daughter of Henry and Idabelle (Miller) Welte. Wanda attended the Quincy Schools. She married Darrel (Bud) Brown on Aug. 4, 1973. He survives. Wanda was the part owner operator of B & B Construction and sole owner of WB Concrete Construction who constructed streets in many area projects for the city of Quincy and the State of Illinois. Wanda’s hobbies included gambling, wood-working, watching the Chicago Cubs and playing on the computer. Wanda’s favorite thing was to spend time with her family.

Wanda was a wonderful wife and mother who in addition to her husband, Bud, is survived by: CHILDREN: Ronald Wand Jr. and special friend, Bonnie Schuman, of Moscow Mills, Mo., Monica Steffen and husband, Roy, of Clayton, Russell Wand and wife, Ruby, of Woodbridge, Va., and Laura Henninger and husband, John, of Liberty;
FIVE GRANDCHILDREN, Joshua Wand and wife, Dawn, Royce Steffen and wife, Trish, Shawnna Perkins and husband, Mike, Shawn Henninger and fiancee’, Tiffany, Michelle Harris and her husband, Joey.
SIX GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN
THREE STEP-CHILDREN: Jana Loofburrow and her husband Dennis of Joshua, Texas; Greg Brown and his wife Denise of Griggsville, IL; and Stan Brown and his wife Jen of Quincy.
SIX STEP-GRANDCHILDREN, EIGHT STEP-GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN
FOUR SISTERS: Helen Welte, Idabelle Ow; Mary Vedenhaupt, and Barbara Sohn and her husband Ed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Darrell Wand, 2 sisters: Dorothy Cunningham and Maude Welte and four brothers; Floyd, Bert, Henry and Tommy Welte.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 12:00 noon in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Akers Chapel Cemetery near Hull. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

    Bud – I’m sorry for your loss and wish I could make it to the visitation but we are leaving town today (Tues.). I was always impressed how Wanda could keep up with the rest of you on all your projects. The quality of your workmanship still shows today.
