Wanda L. Miner
Wanda L. Miner age 89, of 418 Washington Street Quincy, formerly of Carrollton, IL died on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 6:02 p.m. in Blessing Hospital. Wanda was born February 23, 1923 in Carrollton, a daughter of John and Cora Belle (Batty) Powell. She married Bill Miner on March 4, 1945 and he preceded her in death on January 13, 2010.
Wanda was a homemaker. She was of the Methodist faith.
She was a devoted wife and mother and her life centered around her family. She enjoyed being with her family and traveling together.
Wanda was an avid Bridge player for many years. She had a wonderful sense of humor along with a positive impact upon all who knew her.
Survivors include:
her daughter, Andrea Baird and husband John of Quincy; two sons, Steve Miner and his wife Pat of Pleasant Hill, IL and Roger Miner of New York; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren along with nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Eugene, Joseph and John Powell and a sister, Margaret Powell.
Private Services will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
