Wanda Ann Flachs, age 89, of Sunset Home, formerly of 922 York St., Quincy, died on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 11:50 p.m. in the home. She was born on July 26, 1926 in Greenpoint, NY, a daughter of Charles & Betty (Wilmanowicz) Rudewicz. She married Jack Flachs on March 10, 1945 in St. Anislaus Kostka in New York. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1987.

Wanda retired after working many years at Blessing Hospital in housekeeping.

She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and also the WCU.

Wanda enjoyed being with family.

She is survived by:
SIX SONS, Patrick Flachs and his wife True, Jack Flachs, Jr. and his wife Sue and Michael and his wife Theresa Flachs, all of Quincy, Jay Flachs and his significant other Cheryl Laubach of Marshall, MO, Paul Flachs and his wife Kimberly and Jeffery Flachs and his wife Shelly, all of Quincy;
ONE DAUGHTER, Kathy Sherfy and her husband Dave of Maywood, MO;
Twenty-one GRANDCHILDREN;
FORTY-FIVE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN;
TWO GREAT-GREAT GRANDCHILDREN; and
ONE BROTHER, Steve Rudewicz of Florida

In addition to her husband, Jack, and her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Joan (Joni) Moore and Sandra Brassfield, sisters Helen Segretto – Kunkel, Alice Plachteka, Lou Skuba and a brother, Julius Rudewicz.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 9:30 a.m. in Duker and Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:00 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Blessed Sacrament Church and to John Wood Literacy Program.
