Virginia “Maxine” Brewer

Virginia “Maxine” Brewer, age 90, of Geneseo, IL, formerly of Quincy, died on Saturday, November 15, 2014 in Geneseo, IL. She was born on June 7, 1925 in Bowen, IL a daughter of Ivan and Faye (Butler) Jobe. She married William V. “Bill” Brewer on February 23, 1952 in the First Presbyterian Church in Quincy, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 9, 2009.

Virginia was a graduate of Bowen High School and Gem City College. She was a school bus driver and a Sunday school teacher. Virginia served as PTA President. She enjoyed travel, golf and bowling.

She is survived by:
TWO DAUGHTERS: Nancy Clow and her husband Edward of Wheeling, IL, and Carol Vann and her husband Fredrick of New Windsor, IL;
GRANDCHILDREN: Jennifer Clow, and E. William Clow of Wheeling, and Jessica Vann and Tyler Vann of New Windsor.
BROTHER: Frank Jobe and his wife Linda of Macomb, IL
SISTER: Marilyn Little and her husband Jack of Fort Walton Beach, FL

In addition to her husband, Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Donald Jobe, two sisters Marjorie Jobe and Betty Armstrong and a son, Daniel.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 10:30 – 11:00 a.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
