Virginia Marie “Ginny” Rose, age 102, of the Good Samaritan Home, formerly of 326 North 18th St., died on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 in the Home. She was born on July 17, 1909 in Quincy, Illinois the daughter of Edmond & Emma (Eberhardt) Boquet. She first married Cyril Little on September 6, 1930 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1944. Ginny later married Thomas E. Rose on November 2, 1957 in Quincy. He preceded her in death on July 18, 1991.

Mrs. Rose was a swimming instructor for the YMCA from 1930 until her retirement in 1971.

Ginny was the last of her family.

IN addition to her husbands she was also preceded in death by a brother Ralph Boquet.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. George Tomko. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday morning from 10:30 AM until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to the YMCA or to the Quincy Policeman Benevolent & Protective Association.
