Virginia M. Hutmacher

Virginia M. Hutmacher, age 97, of Quincy, died on Monday, March 2, 2015 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on April 16, 1917 in Quincy a daughter of John & Myrtle (Busse) Fries. She married Harold F. “Jim” Hutmacher on July 23, 1947 in St. John the Baptist Church. He preceded her in death.

Virginia was a graduate of Quincy High School and Gem City Business College. She was employed as a secretary at Electric Wheel Co., then later at Busby Outdoor Advertising, and then later at Monogram Industries until her retirement.

Virginia was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She was a ‘Honorary Lifetime” Member of the Adams County Democratic Women, a former member of the Truman Social Club, Rocky Point Club, Quincy Business Women, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.

She is survived by:
A DAUGHTER: Janet Hutmacher of Quincy; a SON: James “Jim” Hutmacher of Quincy; a SISTER: Verda Klues of Quincy; a SISTER-IN-LAW: Norma Hutmacher of Quincy.
Numerous nieces, nephews cousins and other relatives also survive.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a brother: Andy Fries and Brothers-in-Law: John, Paul, and Julius Hutmacher and Roy Klues.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 3:00 PM in Calvary Cemetery. There is no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, the Knights of Columbus TV Mass for Shut-Ins or to the Quincy Humane Society. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    Its been many years I have seen her, when she and Jim belonged to Historic St. Rose parish. Janet you should come see the church now. Your father would love it. May God Have Mercy on their souls and may they be in heaven.
