Virgilia “Jill” Fish

Virgilia “Jill” Fish, age 87, of 1501 Highland Lane, Quincy, died on February 2, 2015 at 12:17 p.m. in her home. She was born on January 21, 1928 in rural Clark County, MO, a daughter of Gilbert and Roxanne (Rogers) Musgrove. She married James L. Fish on October 15, 1948 in Quincy. He died on December 11, 2014.

Jill was a homemaker and an avid baker, known for her delicious cookies and pies. She was also an accomplished seamstress. Years ago, she had participated in special event modeling and cosmetic sales at Bergners.

Jill was of the Baptist faith. She was a volunteer for “Grey Ladies” at the former St. Mary Hospital. Jill loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jill is survived by one son, Joseph Fish and his wife Karen of Taylor, MO; a daughter Karen Bockewitz and her husband Paul of Quincy; five grandchildren, Adam Fish, Tim Greifer, Matt Greifer, Paul Bockewitz &Julie Huseman; nine great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother, Walter R. Musgrove and a sister, Nellie Lou Little.

Per the specific request of Mrs. Fish, cremation rites have been accorded and no services are scheduled. A family memorial dinner is planned. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

    Our family is deeply saddened by the passing of your _______. We’ll always remember Aunt Jill fondly and feel lucky that we had the pleasure of knowing her. What a super lady and always had a smile on her face. She will be very missed.

    Jill was just a true Lady of Class, I remember her with fond memories for her kindness and grace. No many could had been in her shoes or filled them.
