Virgil A. Redenius

Virgil A. Redenius age 81, of North Adams Home, Mendon, IL and formerly of La Prairie, IL died Sunday, April 3, 2011 at 6:10 a.m. in the Home. Virgil was born August 12, 1929 in North East Township, Adams County, IL a son of Albert and Minnie (Herren) Redenius. Virgil married Helen Hendricks on October 28, 1950 in Golden, IL and she survives.

Virgil retired in 2005 after having worked as a farm machinery salesman and auto mechanic.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Virgil was a people person who enjoyed talking and joking with others. He also loved being with his family and working in his yard.

In addition to his wife Helen, survivors include his children, Kathy Lane and her husband Steve of Hannibal, MO; Vicky Cleeton and her husband Don of Ewing, MO; and Heidi Laws of Canton, MO;
A sister, Lorene Totsch;
A sister-in-law: Peggy Redenius
Eight Grandchildren: Kelly Stark and her husband Jason; Andrea Burroughs, Steffani Lane, Chris Cleeton and his wife Misty; Carrie Turner and her husband Jamie, Casey Cleeton and his fiancee Angela Perry, Brian Laws and his wife April and Shannon Laws and her fiancee Matt Stephens.
17 Great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Mervin Redenius, a sister, Margaret Greenough and a grandson, Evan Scott Laws.

Virgil’s wishes were to donate his body to medical science. A private family service will be held at a later date. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Research.
