Viola R. Dinkheller

Viola R. Dinkheller, 91, of 1837 Cherry Street, died on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Sunset Home in Quincy. Viola was born on December 18, 1923, in Ellington Township, a daughter of John and Anna (Klauser) Genenbacher. She married Richard G. Dinkheller on September 26, 1946, at St. Joseph’s Church in Palmyra, Missouri. He died on April 24, 2003.

Viola attended St. Michael’s School in Quincy and attended cosmetology school in Springfield, Illinois. She was self-employed as a beautician for over 50 years in Quincy. Viola was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and was a member of the Ladies of St. Francis Church Group. She enjoyed hosting and attending card parties with her friends and cherished spending time with her family.

Surviving are two sons, William “Bill” Dinkheller of Quincy, Paul Dinkheller of Lewistown, IL; five grandchildren, Travis Dinkheller (Kim) of Quincy, Troy Dinkheller of Troy, IL, Cory (Ann) Dinkheller of O’Fallon, MO, Kodi Dinkeller of Lewistown, IL, and Katie Dinkheller of Lewistown, IL; three great-grandchildren, Cooper Dinkheller of Quincy and Addison and Clayton Dinkheller of O’Fallon, MO; a sister-in-law, Lee Genenbacher off Reno, NV; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard; and a daughter-in-law, Mary Dinkheller, and eleven brothers and sisters; Elmer, Art , Ray, Jim, Sam, and Earl Genenbacher, Mary Schneider, Agnes Duesterhaus, Edith Costigan, Virginia Stegeman, and Rita Clarke.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 24, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Solanus Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the K of C TV Mass or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
