Uncle Aubrey Onlyn Baker

Uncle Aubrey Onlyn Baker, age 75, of Quincy and formerly of Belleville, died Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the Illinois Veteran’s Home in Quincy.
He was born May 11, 1946 in Norton, Virginia, Wise Co., the son of Joseph Harold and Carolyn Waugh Baker.

He is survived by his two sons, Aaron Baker of Austin, TX, and Phillip (Amy) Baker of Gilbert, AZ; five grandchildren; four sisters, Sue Ann Monahan of Collinsville, Cheryl Ellwein of Carlyle, PA, Linda Ganyard of Cleveland, OH and Brenda (Steve) Kramer of Mechanicsburg, PA; one brother, Tracy Garver of California; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and five siblings.

Mr. Baker was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he retired after serving his country for over 25 years. He had a love for Nascar and enjoyed spending time at Eckert’s tinkering and repairing tractors amongst anything else that may have needed to be fixed. He was especially known at Eckert’s for calling the pig races.

Graveside services with military honors will be held Monday, April 25, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Sunset Cemetery in Quincy. There will be no formal visitation, but friends are invited to the graveside services. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association.
