Tracy John Knowles

Tracy John Knowles, age 57, of Quincy died on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in his home. Tracy was born on August 18, 1965 in Quincy the son of John E. and Marabeth “Bunny” (Krueger) Knowles.

Tracy was a 1983 graduate of Quincy High School. He studied Pre-Law and Political Science at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale graduating in 1990. Tracy received his Law Degree from Pepperdine University. He graduated and received degrees from Southeastern Illinois College in Vienna, IL, and Lake Land College. Tracy loved learning, doing research and was determined to find the answers to his questions.

He had worked as a para-legal for a variety of Quincy law firms. Tracy also researched new laws and detailed them for a local retired judge who then wrote updated law textbooks. He had also worked at Home Depot and the Quincy Public Library.

Tracy was a true outdoorsman who liked nothing better than spent time on the water boating, kayaking and at his river camp.

Tracy is survived by his brother: Tad (Debby) Knowles of Quincy.
Aunts, Mildred “Shorty” Lovelace and Norma (Warren) Cook, one uncle, Raymond (Mary) Knowles.
His nieces and nephews: John M. Knowles, Jill (Nathan) Boden of Ewing, MO, Jessica A. Knowles of Quincy, James “Jamie” Knowles of Quincy; great nieces, nephews and many cousins also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and private memorial services are planned. Interment will be in Quincy Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to Mississippi Valley Hunters and Fishermen Association. Service arrangements are in care of Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
