Timothy G. Jarvis

Timothy G. Jarvis age 66, of 1426 Sycamore St. Quincy, died on January 26, 2014 in Blessing Hospital. He was born October 15, 1947 in Mountain Home, AR, a son of Howard & Pearl (Johnson) Jarvis. He married Kathryn Leveque on August 18, 1989 in Paducah, KY and she survives.

Timothy was employed by the City of Quincy, beginning his career as a mechanic and retiring in 2001 as Supervisor of the city’s fleet. He was a graduate of Lewistown High School. He served in the U.S. Army.

Timothy was a member of Faith Christian Church. He had served as a Board Member of the City Credit Union, and he was a member of the Trike Association and the Gold Wing Club.
His family was the most important thing to him and he was loved by all. He always stayed active doing something, whether it was riding his trike, building grandfather clocks, making wood furniture, and hunting or bowling with his brothers and friends.

In addition to his wife, survivors also include his children: Howard Duane Jarvis, Jr. and Timothy Gene Jarvis both of Orlando, FL; three grandsons, twins Zachary and Joshua Jarvis and Timothy Ryan Jarvis all of Florida; a great-grandson, Trenton Jarvis of Florida; four step-children, Delbert (Kelley) Gilbert of Charleston, IA; James B. (Cathy) Gilbert of Keokuk, IA; Karen McNett (Stanley) of Quincy; and William D. (Phyllis) Gilbert all of Quincy.
Step-grandchildren Mindy (Jeff) Scofield of Carthage, IL; Michelle Fisher of North Carolina; Lucy (Mike) Benedict of Mt. Pleasant, IA; Kathy Howe of Kahoka, MO; Shawn (Jaime) Nelson Cole of Springfield, IL; Heather Cole of Keokuk, IA and Juanita Cole of Quincy; William Daniel, Jr. of Keokuk, IA; Crystal Gilbert of Quincy and Harry Dumford of California. His brothers and sisters, Betty Marlow of Macomb, IL; Nellie Cameron of Texas; Bennie (Shirley) Jarvis of Canton, MO; Kenny (Barb) Jarvis of Kansas; Kail (Mary) Jarvis of Quincy; Debbie (Marty) Decker of Aurora, IL; Rickey (Angie) Jarvis; Rex (Debbie) Jarvis all of Quincy. Numerous nieces, nephews and step-great grandchildren on the Gilbert side of the family also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Loren and a sister, Rosalee Jarvis.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home by Rev. Steve Jarvis. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
