Thomas Lee Sohn
Thomas Lee Sohn, age 61, of 1401 North 17th, died on Sunday, December 5, 2010 in his home. He was born on November 29, 1949 in Quincy the son of Emil J., Sr. & Mary (Matticks) Sohn.
Tom attended Christian Brothers & was a graduate of Quincy High School. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Before his retirement, Thomas worked as an union electrician in the Quincy area for many years. Tom was a life-time member of the VFW. Thomas enjoyed hunting, trains, playing pool, bingo, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include:
HIS MOTHER: Mary Sohn of Quincy;
THREE CHILDREN: Dwayne Sohn & his wife Heather of Bend, OR; Tamra Longlett & her husband Jeff of Liberty, & Tina Tenhouse and her husband Rory of Quincy;
GRANDCHILDREN: Amber Sohn, Phillip Sohn, Hannah Hutmacher, Beau Tenhouse, Brady Tangy, & Breanne Tenhouse.
BROTHERS: Joe Sohn & his wife Judy, Ed Sohn & his wife Barb, Roger Sohn and his wife Barb, Tony Sohn and his wife Connie, Steve Sohn & his wife Donna.
SISTERS: Doris Karhoff and her husband Marty, Mary Lou Elsie and her husband Dave, Alice Waelder, Jane Brown and her husband Robert, Kate Specht & her husband Kevin & Marge Hilgenbrink and her husband Steve.
Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 10, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church by
Father Tom Shaughnessy. Interment will be in Sunset Cemetery with military honors conducted by the American Legion Post #37. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Meals on Wheels or to the Illinois Veterans Home Activities Fund. www.dukerandhaugh.com
