Thomas Joseph Keppner
Thomas Joseph Keppner, age 83, of Quincy died on Monday, September 26, 2022 in his home. Tom was born on May 18, 1939 in Quincy, the son of Alfred and Willeyne (Browning) Keppner. He married Joyce Heck Morrison on February 10, 1967 in Springfield, IL. She survives.
Tom was the maintenance supervisor at Quincy College for thirty-five plus years, until his retirement in 2000. Past President of Twin Oaks Boat Club, Knights of Columbus, and Elks. Tom enjoyed his family and friends and enjoyed life. Active hunter, particularly with deer hunting, including several trips to Colorado. He enjoyed spending time at his log cabin near Siloam Springs.
He is survived by his wife, his children: Stephen (Tina) Keppner of Coatsburg, IL, Brenda Morrison Dirkes of Quincy, Bill (Tammy) Keppner of O’Fallon, MO, Michael Morrison of Pompano, FL and Annette (Dan) Keppner White of Eagan, MN; ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; siblings: Richard Keppner of Quincy and Robert “Bob” (Maggie) Keppner also of Quincy.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Richard “Butch” Morrison, two brothers, David Keppner and Mark Keppner.
A private graveside service will be held. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 6 p.m. at Twin Oaks Boat Club. Memorials to Camp Callahan and Fishing for Freedom. Services are in care of Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
