Thomas E. Timpe

Thomas E. Timpe, age 78 of 3932 Abbey Ridge Court, Quincy, died on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in St. Vincent’s Home. He was born on September 16, 1932 in Quincy, a son of Carl & Rosina (Kenning) Timpe. He married Doris Mast on July 28, 1973 in Quincy and she survives.

Thomas was the owner of Quincy Specialties. He attended Quincy Notre Dame High School and Gem City College. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and was a member of the Church of St. Peter. He was a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. Thomas was an avid baseball fan and a volunteer for the WCU Food Pantry.

In addition to his wife, Doris, survivors also include his children:
Diane Gallucci and her husband Frank of Normal, IL, Kim Lucas and her husband Jason of Lincoln, IL, and Greg Timpe and his wife Hilary of Countryside, IL
SIX GRANDCHILDREN: Nathan Gallucci, Adam Gallucci, Michael Lucas, Austin Lucas, Jack Timpe & Leah Timpe
TWO BROTHERS: Gene Timpe and his wife Judy, Jim Timpe and his wife Elaine
ONE SISTER: Dorothy Olps, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Mary Allen, a sister-in-law Reva Timpe and a brother-in-law Richard Olps.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 9:00AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a 9:30 funeral mass in the Church of St. Peter. Interment in Quincy Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday evening at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home from 4:00 – 7:00 PM with a parish prayer service at 6:00 PM. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or to Quincy Notre Dame High School.

    Hi Family. We have so many great memories of Uncle Tom. Melea, Paul, sarah and I love to smile and tell stories about how Uncle Tom made us laugh. Sorry we could not be with you all this weekend. Love David and Family
