Theresa E. “Terri” Frese

Theresa E. “Terri” Frese age 69, of Fowler, IL died on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 in Blessing Hospital. Terri was born in Quincy on January 30, 1953 a daughter of George L. Ellsworth and Norma Jean (Jansen) Ellsworth. She married David G. Frese, her husband of nearly 50 years, on July 22, 1972 in St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church in Mendon, and he survives.

Terri was a 1971 graduate of Unity High School in Mendon, she later graduated from John Wood Community College with an Associates Degree in Early Child Care Education. Her passion was being a homemaker and taking care of her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of St. Edward Church. She had served as president of the Altar Society, she was also a PSR teacher.

While her children were in school, she served as a room mother for each of them. She was president of the Mendon PTA; worked on fundraiser’s including for the playground. She was a 4-H leader, president of the Paloma HCE, and loved being part-of the Kiddie Bazaar. Terri was an Auxiliary Officer of the Central Adams Fire Protection District.

Terri will be remembered by her grandchildren the crafts she made and gave to their classes at the holidays. She loved crocheting, decorating cakes, and watching Harry Potter movies. She was always watching crafters and bakers on her tablet like the “The Cookie Lady”.

In addition to her husband David, survivors include her children, Craig Frese of Fowler, Gena (Robby) Mintle of Liberty; Dana (Greg) Haxel of Camp Point; George (Carrie Ann) Frese of Tampa, FL.
Nine grandchildren, Marissa and Mariah Mintle; Emma and Avery Haxel; Zachary, Belle, Alexis, Odette and Esme Frese.
Also surviving are half-brothers and sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Terri was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Larry Ellsworth, who was her twin and David Ellsworth.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 17, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:30 in St. Edward the Confessor Catholic Church with Rev. Scott Snider officiant. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Quincy. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home.
