Theodore Platt, age 71, of 205 W. Pittsfield, Liberty, IL died on Friday, February 15, 2008 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on October 16, 1936 in Kansas City, MO the son of Theodore & Nina (Evans) Platt. He married Shirley Rice on September 1, 1957 in Payson, IL. She survives. Mr. Platt was a self-employed Mechanic in the Payson area. He served in the United States Navy. Mr. Platt greatly enjoyed fishing & hunting.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by:
FIVE CHILDREN: Vickie Platt, Theresa Hocking and her companion Kevin Cecil, Lee Platt and his wife Sheila, Melinda Tournear and her husband Rick; and Tina Haley.
14 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren
THREE BROTHERS: Ronnie Platt and his wife Bev, Herbert Platt and his wife Fran and Douglas Platt and his wife Tina.
FOUR SISTERS: Billie Uppinghouse; Beverly Cane and her husband Donnie; Shirley Nixon and her husband Ralph; and Coriene Denton
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son-in-law: Doug Hocking, a grandchild Jesse Tournear, and a brother Arnold Platt.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Payson New Cemetery. There is no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside services. Memorials may be made to the family. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
