Thelma Jean Duvall

Thelma Jean Duvall, age 80, of the St. Vincent Home, formerly of 3415 Harmony Hill, died on Saturday, November 3, 2012 in Blessing Hospital surrounded by her family. As a final gift to others, Thelma was an organ donor. She was born on March 5, 1932 in Palmyra, MO the daughter of Arthur George and Bertha (Hollender) Lochman. Thelma married Jack Duvall on August 30, 1952 in St. Francis Catholic Church in Quincy. He survives.

Thelma worked at Motorola and at St. Dominic School over the years until her retirement.
She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Thelma enjoyed her birds, especially purple martins and hummingbirds. She had many dogs over the years which she greatly enjoyed. However, Thelma’s main focus was caring for her family whom she dearly loved.

In addition to her husband Jack , Thelma is also survived by:
THREE CHILDREN: Karen Smith and her husband Brian of Quincy; Jeff Duvall and his wife Christine of Quincy; and Janet Duvall of Quincy
NINE GRANDCHILDREN: Luke DeMaster-Smith and his wife Rayna; Jake Smith; Wesley Smith; Ashley Duvall; Destiny Purdy; Kevin McBride; Justin McBride; Jonet Roberts; Jaeden Roberts.
ONE SISTER: Doris Ann Schwartz and husband Bernard.
SISTERS-IN-LAW: Collette Lochman and Carol Miller and her husband Greg
BROTHERS-IN-LAW: Berl Wombles, Dale Duvall and his wife Ruth; and Glenn Duvall.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, her Father-in-law Jacob DuVall and her Mother-in-law Margaret DuVall, Brothers Leroy and Kenneth Lochman, a sister Darlene Wombles, and Brothers-in-law: Harry Duvall along with his wife Sandra and Ralph Duvall along with his wife Nancy.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:30 in St. Francis Catholic Church. Private interment in Quincy Memorial Park at a later time. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church.

    Jack, Karen,Jeff, and Janet, I was so sorry to hear of your loss of Thelma. My sisters and I always enjoyed coming to your house as kids. Thelma was such a nice lady with a big heart.     I am very sorry to hear of Thelma’s passing. The family does not know me, but Steve Schwartz does. We worked on the Kroeger genealogy together. I send my prayers and thoughts as the family goes through this period of loss.
