Terry M. Koontz
Terry M. Koontz, age 72, of 1306 Springdale South, Quincy, died on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on June 24, 1940 in Quincy, the son of Floyd & Erma (Seward) Koontz. He married Karin Konkow on July 22, 1972 in Quincy. She survives.
Terry was a graduate of Camp Point Central High School. He worked for Electric Wheel until its closure. Since that time he has worked at Farm & Home Supply, Safe Light Auto Glass and was currently employed at Wood Mart.
He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.
Terry was a member of the Elks Club and the Quincy Boat Club. His past enjoyments have included eighteen years of refereeing basketball games for various high schools and colleges.
In addition to his wife, Karin, he is survived by a son, David Koontz and his wife Cheryl of Maineville, OH; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Koontz of Maineville, OH; and two sisters, Betty (Richard) Emmert of Mendon, IL and Sharon Wharton of Quincy. In-laws, nieces & nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Friday beginning at 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Francis Food Pantry, a Food Pantry of the donor’s choice or the Quincy Humane Society. www.dukerandhaugh.com

I’m sorry to hear about Terry’s passing. I first meet Terry when I worked in an insurance office in Quincy. He was always wonderful to talk with. He talked about his lovey wife with a huge smile.
I seen him a couple weeks ago in a Quincy business and received a huge big hug

Karin, We just heard of your loss of Terry. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this difficult time. We were so lucky to get to see Terry this last summer when we were home visiting. Carlyn, still talks about all the guys at Electric Wheel. Then of course we also use to see you all on the river boating too. Carlyn says Terry was a great meantor to him during his time at the FEWC. We’re so sorry, our hearts go out to you.

I will remember Terry as a real first class guy. Always friendly, always smiling, always giving a compliment and a pat on the back. Terry will be missed. Karin and family, you have my sympath.

Many people in the area know Terry and I was one of those that had the priviledge in meeting him when I worked in an insurance office and he would stop in as a representative for auto/glass company. He was caring and delight to have known. Sympathy to family at your loss.
