Terry Lee Callahan
Terry Lee Callahan, age 62, of Fowler, died on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 in his home. He was born on March 27, 1957 in Jacksonville, IL the son of Clarence & Ila (Riggall) Callahan. He married Eva Parsons on April 2, 1983 in Decatur, IL. She survives.
Mr. Callahan was a computer programmer for Titan Wheel International. Terry was a member of Faith Journey Church where he served as a deacon, he was a volunteer for Fishing for Freedom, loved volunteering at church, taking care of his animals, fixing and tinkering with things. Terry also liked being outside and was a part-time gym enthusiast.
IN addition to his wife, he is also survived by:
HIS MOTHER: Ila Callahan of Mechanicsburg, IL
HIS CHILDREN: Sara Ashley Schmidt and her husband Jared of Liberty, Il and Justin Lindsay Callahan of Oklahoma.
GRANDCHILDREN: Aiden Callahan and Kaysen Callahan with one more grandchild expected later this month.
A SISTER: Cindy White and her husband Steve.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Terry was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 12:00 Noon at the Faith Journey Church, 4115 North 12th. Inurnment will be at Greenmount Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held at Faith Journey Church on Thursday, from 10:30 until the time of the services. Memorials may be made to Fishing for Freedom or to Faith Journey Church. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Terry was the nicest guy..he will truly be missed..prayers for his family..so.sorry for your loss..

Readers digest used to have a column every issue called “My most unforgettable character”. I liked to read it when I had the chance, and came to realize that the people we tend to remember most aren’t for the big events, but for a bunch of little things that add up when you aren’t looking.
I have been thinking about Terry Callahan a lot lately. So many memories over the years… sure there was a health scare or two, but those things are never what come to mind.
I remember when a bunch of us helped him move into his new place and laugh about how he had too much stuff. I remember his amazing woodworking skills, and how he was so generous with his knowledge to show me how to do some things. He knew how to stick drywall on to the ceiling – by himself! Who knows that stuff?!
If you needed help, he would come over. If something funny popped into his head, it would come right out – he always seemed to have a good story. He was a really smart programmer, a real pleasure to work with.
When our work group moved on to other separate projects, he was one that we missed in our work life. When he moved back to Illinois we missed seeing him around town. Kept in touch, but not as often. Wish I had done better. Still, I will remember Terry often and fondly as one of my most unforgettable characters.
Our prayers are with the family. May God hold him his loving care. And If heaven needs furniture, I’m sure Terry will make them some.
Eva and Family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Terry was such a trooper. Eva please know that Terry shared with me several times how special you were and how grateful he was for you and how well you took care of him. Your strength along this journey amazed me. Prayers are with you.

Terry was a great co-worker with a wonderful sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.
Terry was a good friend and co-worker. I will greatly miss him at Titan. I will miss him teasing me about my fishing boat sitting too much in my garage. He always told me that I needed to go fishing more often. My prayers go out to this family & friends.
Terry and I worked many years for EDS/ARG. And in that time, he helped many people to understand the system which we worked on. He was such a great person to work with, always willing to help anyone. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and his friends.

My deepest sympathy for the Callahan family. As a friend of Justin’s, Terry was another father figure to me and helped me through adolescence, life lessons, driving, carpentry, organization, and how to keep my car looking great. He was a great guy and I’m thankful for my time with him. May God give you comfort in this time.
