Terrance “Terry” A. Mast

Terrance “Terry” A. Mast age 68, of Quincy died on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 1:25 p.m. in Barnes Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Terry was born August 17, 1949 in Quincy, a son of Jim and Louise (Derhake) Mast. He married Susann Richmiller on May 1, 1971 in Quincy, and she survives.

Terry owned Terry Mast Construction, and specialized as a contractor in local residential foundation construction. He had in his 30-plus years in concrete, poured over 1,000 foundations in the Quincy and surrounding areas. He attended St. Anthony Grade School and went on to graduate in 1967 from Christian Brothers High School.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Terry was a member and former officer of Quincy Homebuilders, a member of the Knights of Columbus and Fishing Clubs. He enjoyed playing golf for many years, and was passionate about fishing. He traveled to Canada three times-a-year to fish and loved having a fish fry. Terry cherished the times shared with his family and friends, playing cards and just hanging-out. As a proud grandpa, he went to many sporting events and other activities to show his love and support to his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife Susann; his Dad, Jim Mast of Quincy survives, as well as his children:
Daren (Kim) Mast of Quincy; Brandon (Kristen) Mast of Scottsdale, AZ; Megan (Ty) Suhre of Swansea, IL and Afton Mast of Quincy; Grandchildren, Kelsey, Kayla, Ryan and Reed Mast; Lauren Mast; Logan Mast and Kafrey Hively.

8 brothers and sisters, Alan (Sharon) Mast of Springfield, IL; Bill (Carol) Mast of Liberty; Ronnie (Joyce) Mast of Quincy; Cathy (Joe) Hollensteiner of Quincy; Mel (Debbie) Mast; Tony (Donna) Mast all of Springfield, IL; Sue Mast-Meyers of Alabama and Kent (Monica) Mast of Liberty.

His mother-in-law Pauline Richmiller of Quincy and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Louise Mast, and his father-in-law, Melvin Richmiller.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, March 23, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church, by the Rev. Tom Donovan. Inurnment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Church. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association or to Fishing for Freedom. Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
