Susan Lee Einhaus

Susan Lee Einhaus, age 64, of Quincy, passed on to be with her Lord on Thursday, October 18, 2012. She was born on March 22, 1948 to Leroy & Connie (Dieker) Einhaus. Susan was a graduate of St. John the Baptist Catholic Grade School, Quincy Notre Dame High School and Quincy University. Susan first married Allen Krueger. She later married Louis Guidry.

Susan was a life-long artist, creating works in various mediums. She enjoyed sewing, painting, photography, crafting and decorating. Family was a great source of joy and strength in Susan’s life. She will be greatly missed by those who love her.

Susan spent her career educating and nurturing children whether by teaching, directing or running her own childcare center. After retirement, Susan reconnected with her love of art & design by working part-time at Domestics, Etc. in Quincy’s historic downtown.

Susan is survived by three daughters: Minnie Sue Reische and her husband Todd of Paloma, IL; Nora Wilson and her husband Seth of Quincy and Elizabeth Guidry of Quincy; a grandson: Eli Wilson of Quincy; a sister: Chris Hirsch and her husband Michael of Pembroke Pines, FL; two nephews: Bill Hirsch and his fiance Larissa Tapigliani of Sunrise, FL; and John Hirsch of Pembroke Pines, FL. She is also survived by her life-long best friend Paula Bristol of Quincy, two aunts and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, several aunts and uncles and her grandparents.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday October 24, 2012 at 7:00 PM in the Quincy University Chapel, a special place held dear by Susan. Memorials may be made to Elizabeth’s education fund. The Duker and Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    It saddened me to hear that Sue had passed away. She was a wonderful/talented student of mine who I had the pleasure to teach. I found her to be a warm and caring person and considered her a friend. My prayers go out to the family. She will be missed. Fondly, Bob
