Steven Gerald Hidy, age 34, of Quincy, died Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.

He was born October 24, 1988 in Quincy, the son of Ronald and Dana Schorn Hidy.

He is survived by his parents, Ronald and Dana of Quincy; maternal grandmother, Donna Riggs of Quincy. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dormand and Phyllis Hidy; maternal grandfathers, Frank Schorn and Vernon Riggs.

Mr. Hidy was a 2007 graduate of Quincy High School and attended Vatterott College in Quincy. He was employed by All-Line Equipment Company in Quincy for over 10 years working as a computer and lead programmer, designer and system architect. Steven described his jobs duties as follows, “I design things, then I build things, then I do things that make those things work”! He enjoyed gaming, spending time with his friends and had a love for animals. Steven was gifted in music, especially the guitar. He was a kind and caring soul, always giving of himself.

A memorial visitation will be held 5 PM to 7 PM Thursday, April 13, 2023 at Duker and Haugh Funeral Home in Quincy. Burial in Greenmount Cemetery will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Quincy Humane Society. Duker and Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
