Stephen D. “Jonesy” Jones, Sr., age 67, of Quincy, died on Sunday, January 2, 2022 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on May 4, 1954 in Quincy, the son of Donald Loraine and Betty Lou (Smith) Jones.

Stephen married Barbara J. Deeter on February 14, 1986 in Palmyra, MO. She survives.

Stephen served his country in the US Marine Corp. He was a machinist at Titan Wheel until he became disabled. Stephen liked fishing and coon hunting. He was a talker and would talk to anyone he met. He loved his grandchildren and was so good at teasing them. He was also an excellent cook.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Kristi Jones, Stephanie Jones, Joshua Jones, Jennifer Jones, Steven D. Jones, Jr. and Jeremy Deeter; twenty-eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and lots of nieces and nephews; siblings: Brenda Tournear, Cindy Davies, Randy Barajas and James Tournear.

Stephen was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gary Tournear.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. The family requests that everyone please wear a mask for the visitation and services.
