I went to school with Susan , visit her a few times when she was in the n.w. hospital in chicago, I miss her but will never forget her, I am sorry to hear that mom left us…I wish the family the very best at this difficult time… Would welcome to hear from the rest of the family at any time…. best wishes to you all tom mccarthy, qhs 78 ……

We are truly sorry for you loss and remember Shirley fondly from the few times we met her. I’ll never quite forget the way she swiggled from the bottle at Steve’s graduation party or the giant can of tuna she bought for you. It’s funny the silly thing that we remember. Of course I always remember her being there at Julie’s shows and hearing stories of her travels with the family. How wonderful that you were able to share so many precious times with her in an adult relationship. I’m sure you’ll miss her terribly and we sympathize with your grief. Nothing ever replaces the love of a good mother. However, I’m hoping that our relationship with you will help to fill the void in some small way. We love you all and hope you can find some peace in this difficult time.
