Selma M. McNaughton age 93, of Good Samaritan Home died on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 9:45 p.m. in Good Samaritan Home. Selma was born February 14, 1919 in Adams County, Illinois a daughter of Clemens and Mabel (Shriver) Schlipmann. She married Harvey S. McNaughton in Quincy on October 7, 1950 and he preceded her in death July 29, 1989.
Selma worked as a secretary at the Adams County Farm Bureau for many years. She attended Quincy schools and Gem City Business College.
She was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. Selma and her husband Harvey were avid golfers and members of both Spring Lake Country Club and Cedar Crest Country Clubs. She bowled for many years and also enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include a step-son, Ralph McNaughton of Danville, KY;
A sister, Alta Benson Roseville, CA and other relatives survive.
A private funeral will be held conducted by Rev. Brian Damrow. There will be no visitation. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ or to Good Samaritan Home.
