Sarah Christine Birsic, age 25, of 910 Birdie Lane Quincy, IL died on Friday, September 14, 2012 at 1:20AM in Emergency Room of Blessing Hospital. She was born on July 6, 1987 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of Dr. William Birsic and Kathleen (Yonosik) Birsic.

Sarah attended Quincy Notre Dame High School, and graduated from Quincy Senior High School in 2005. She then attended the University of Missouri where she was in the Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in 2009. She graduated with honors with a Human Resource Management degree from Lindenwood University in 2011.

She was most recently employed by Kohl Wholesale as a Human Resource Specialist.

Sarah was of the Roman Catholic faith and had been a member of All Saints Parish. Sarah was a cheerleader at both QND and QHS. She had a beautiful voice and sang in the chorus and QHS Show Choir. She had many friends, all of whom she cherished and she received much love from them in return. Sarah also loved her two dogs, Jersey and Ziggy, who she shared with in a long term relationship with Spencer Beaston of Quincy.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her brother William Birsic Jr. of Quincy; her maternal grandfather Edward Yonosik of Marianna, PA, and her paternal grandmother Margaret Birsic of Wexford, PA. Many aunts, uncles, cousins also survive.

Sarah was preceded in death by maternal grandmother Beatrice Yonosik, paternal grandfather Ivan Birsic, and her dear aunt Joan Dawson.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, by the Monsignor Michael Kuse. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh.
Memorials are suggested to the National Pancreas Foundation, 101 Federal Street, Suite 1900, Boston, MA 02110, The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, (JDRF)26 Broadway, 14th Floor New York, NY 10004 and the Quincy Humane Society 1701 North 36th Street Quincy, IL 62301.

    I did not have the pleasure of knowing your daughter, however , my daughter worked with her at Kohls and was very saddened about her sudden and tragic death. Please know that you and your family are in our prayers.
