Sandra “Sandy” Kay Dailing

Sandra “Sandy” Kay Dailing, age 74, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 in The Arbors at Adams Pointe. Sandy was born on March 8, 1947 in Quincy, the daughter of Marshall and Jessie (Wright) Knowles. She married Tommie Dailing. He preceded her in death on October 12, 2000.

Sandy was a homemaker. She loved crafts, especially making wreaths, and attending craft shows and yard sales. Sandy was a good softball player in her younger years, and she enjoyed watching sports. She was a spunky grandmother that very much loved her grandkids.

Sandy is survived by her children:
Jessie Knowles (Joe Kroeger); Shelly Collins all of Quincy, Tommie Dailing, Jr. of Payson, and Marrie Zimmerman (Matthew) of Peoria. Grandchildren: Maryia Dailing, Danielle Casey (Craig), Deviak Dailing, Mac Dailing, Madison, Macie and Mason Zimmerman.
Great-grandchildren: Waya Dailing, Leah Schluter, Cooper and Karson Wolf and one on the way, Baby Leo.
Siblings: Mildred Lovelace, Norma Cook (Warren) and Raymond Knowles (Mary). Many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a grandson, Thomas Dailing, and an unborn great grandson. Siblings: John Knowles, Imogene Knowles, Crystal Knowles, Jimmy Knowles, Alice Knowles, Mary Mendenhall, Bobby Knowles and Marilyn Huner.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.
at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation is Monday from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m.at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter

    I’m so sorry to hear about Sandy’s passing. I loved her. Unfortunately, I can’t make it to the funeral, but my thoughts, & prayers are with you all. Jesse, Shelly, Tommy, and Marie I love you all. God bless you.

    Jesse, Shelly,Tommy and Marie, I am so sorry for your loss! Your Mom was the greatest. I have some of her recipes still! We were like one of her own kids, no matter where we were! Sandy will be missed lots of hugs and prayers!

    Sandy was a great friend at Franklin School. i lived across the street from Sandy on 4th street. well miss her sweet smile and memories i had. She is in God Hands now .

    Sorry to hear of the death of Sandy. We did not know each other but she was married to a 1st cousin of mine. I do follow the Dailing history as I’m in the FB Dailing family group. My condolence to the family
