Sandra “Sandy” A. Koetters

Sandra “Sandy” A. Koetters, 81, of Quincy, IL died Friday December 15, 2023 at 12:30 am in her home.
Sandy was born on October 28, 1942 in Quincy, IL a daughter of Robyn and Rita (Genenbacher) Clarke, Jr. She married Thomas A. Koetters on January 14, 1961 at Holy Rosary Church in Monroe City, MO. He preceded her in death on December 14, 2012.

When Sandy wasn’t raising her beautiful family, she worked as a housekeeper at Quincy College. She also worked at Royal Printing and Maid Rite in Quincy.

Sandy enjoyed playing bingo and trying her luck at the casino. In her later years she loved to color and play on her iPad, saying that it was the best gift she was ever given. In addition to many cherished memories, her family fondly remembers her Sunday family dinner of roast, carrots, and potatoes. Sandy will be greatly missed by her family and community.

She is survived by:
FOUR CHILDREN: Lori Koetters (Brian Smith) of Homer Glen, IL; Angie (Tim) Lohmeyer, Bryan (Corie) Koetters, and Steve (Leslie) Koetters all of Quincy, IL.
EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN: Scott Lohmeyer, Morgan (Dustin) Wert, Clarke Smith, Amelia Koetters, Brady Koetters, Kate (Wade) Harvey, Lily Koetters, and Nicholas Koetters.
FIVE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Kaiden Lohmeyer, Weston Harvey, Sidney Lohmeyer, Karson Wert, and Adelynn Wert.
TWO BROTHERS: Douglas (Suellen) Clarke and Dennis Clarke.
TWO SISTERS: Roberta Meyer and Bonnie (Terry) Kistner.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and one grandchild, Allison Ann Koetters.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church. Private interment in Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or to the St. Francis Catholic Church.
