Sandra J. ‘Sandi’ Holford

Sandra J. “Sandi’ Holford, age 76, of Quincy, died on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 in Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.  She was born on October 20, 1946 in Quincy the daughter of Ralph ‘Troy’ and Ella (Wood) Massingill.  She married Doug Holford on December 11, 1965 in St. Rose Catholic Church.  He survives.

Sandi was a 1963 graduate of Quincy High School and graduated from Gem City Business College.  Sandi was the owner and operator of Holford Accounting and Tax Service.

Sandi was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church and in earlier years volunteered at many church activities.  She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary.  She was also a member of the ‘Speedy Fillies’ of the Illinois Harness Horse Association.  Sandi was a talented artist, loved her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren.  Her dog, ‘Dexter’ was her world.

In addition to her husband, she is also survived by:

THREE CHILDREN: Dawn Herzog (Dave); Andrea Holford; and Jason Holford (Mary Anne) all of Quincy

GRANDCHILDREN: Josh Herzog (Lori); Ryan Herzog (Paige) and Makayla Herzog; Alexandra Coffer (Nickalas) and Felix Holford; Cameron Holford, Vincent Holford and Catori Holford.

GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Scarlett and Amelia; Kinsley and Sawyer.

Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Sandi was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Richard Massingill, Sr.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 10:30 AM in the Quincy Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM at the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.  Memorials may be made to the Blessing Diabetes Center. The Duker and Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    Sandra and I go all the way back to junior high. We were best buds through high school. My deepest, heartfelt sympathy as we all remember her as a great lady.
