Sandra A. Weibring

Sandra A. Weibring, 84, of Quincy, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021, at Blessing Hospital.
She was born October 19, 1937, in Quincy, to Spencer and Edythe Mary Vasen. She married Joseph A. Weibring on October 25, 1958, at St. Francis Solanus Church and they were happily married for 61 years. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2020.
Sandy was a graduate of Quincy High School and Stephens College in Columbia, MO. After getting married Sandy worked at Quincy Peoples Savings and Loan for several years. She then worked as a lunchroom supervisor at Ellington School where she was also the PTA president. She then moved on to work in the education department at Quincy College. Starting in 1978, she worked for attorney James Rapp at the law firm at Hutmacher, Rapp and Ortbal, P.C., and remained there for the next 35 years, finally retiring in 2013. She loved her work and the many clients she met over the years.
She was a member of St. Francis Solanus Church in Quincy.
Sandy enjoyed watching sports on tv and was an avid St. Louis Blues and Chicago Cubs fan. Sandy and Joe were regular customers at Sprouts and enjoyed catching up with friends and with the restaurant staff. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her granddaughters and great-granddaughters. Family night was her favorite night of the week. She also had a great love of animals in general and adored her pets. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter, Jodi (Dewayne) Neisen of Quincy; two granddaughters, Kristen (Zach) Rasche of Quincy, and Nicole (Mitch) Leppke of Joplin, Missouri; two great-granddaughters, Emma Kate Rasche and Audrey Ann Leppke; a brother, Jim (Georgia) Vasen; and three sisters-in-law, Georgann Oppie, Margie (Jim) Boden, and Alice (Bill) Bender, all of Quincy; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe, and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Blessing Hospice, Quincy Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
There will be a private family service. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    There is a special place in heaven for people as wonderful as Sandy & Joe. They filled a special place in everyone’s heart and will be greatly missed.

    Jodi and family, so sorry to see of your mother’s passing. We so enjoyed visiting with her at Jim’s office during our aunt’s illness. She was such a kind person and will be missed by many.

    Jodi and family, we are so saddened to hear of your mom’s passing. Sandy was such a caring and loving person. Speaking from personal experience, I so enjoyed working with her….especially our personal talks each morning before we started our daily work. She was like my second mom and I always called her that. Loved her dearly. Again, we are so sorry for your loss. You and your entire family are in our thoughts and prayers.

    Jodi, I’m so very sorry to hear of the loss of your dear loving mother. I have many fond memories of your mother clear back to our growing up days at the Casino Bowling Alley when both our moms bowled on the same league. Your mom was a true gem.
