Ruth Marie Emily Heuer, age 85, of 823 South 36th Street and formerly of 2512 Turner Road Quincy, died on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 in Blessing Hospital. She was born November 24, 1929 in Sellback, Germany, a daughter of Friedrich W. and Martha Ulga (Gernhard) Schlupkoten. She married Gunter Albert Fritz Heuer on August 27, 1949 in Mulheim Ruhr, Germany, and he preceded her in death October 5, 1992.

Ruth was a homemaker, and loved her family dearly. Her pastime’s included reading, playing BINGO and traveling. Ruth liked to socialize and enjoyed being with her friends.

Survivors include her children, son, Rainer Heuer of Wittman, AZ; daughter Sabine Cottrell and her husband James of Quincy; four grandchildren, Chris Heuer Genenbacher, Tammy Mullen and husband Chris, Scott Heuer and Lorri Lee Knauss; 8 great grandchildren also survive.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Friedhelm “Fred” Heuer, and a grandson, Blake Genenbacher.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday morning from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Quincy Humane Society.
