Ruth M. Venvertloh
Ruth M. Venvertloh, age 79, of the Sycamore Healthcare Centre, died on Monday, February 21, 2011 in Blessing Hospital. She was born June 8, 1931 in Quincy the daughter of Henry & Christine (Holtschlag) Venvertloh. Ruth worked at the St. Joseph Nursing Home and at the Christian Shelter Center. Ruth was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and a former long-time member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Ruth was an avid card-player. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. Ruth also loved to visit with her family, especially her sisters.
Ruth is survived by:
THREE SISTERS: Margie Bernhardt and her husband Carl of Quincy; Kay Peters and her husband Kenneth of Pekin, Il; and Ginny Miller and her husband Dan also of Quincy.
ONE BROTHER-IN-LAW: Kenneth Hugenberg of Quincy.
A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives also survive.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Pat Hugenberg, and her niece and godchild: Connie Bernhardt.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 9:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a funeral mass at 10:00 AM in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM with a Prayer service at 6:00. Memorials may be made to the Cornelia DeLang Foundation or to St. Francis Catholic Church.
Ruth will be missed by many people. My thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.
Ruthie was very special and good hearted. She was always joyful, and loved her Faith. I will always remember her lovingly as my dear cousin. God bless her sisters and close family, who were always so good to her.
