Ruth was a member of St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church and the Ladies of St. Francis. Ruth very much enjoyed bowling and playing golf, as well as the friendships that those activities afforded. She excelled at both-of these sports, and in previous years competed in many local leagues and tournaments. Chip and Ruth also shared many years enjoying boating on The River, and they were longtime, active members of the Quincy Boat Club. She had been a member of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary.
Ruth is survived by: her son, Jay G. Holtman and his wife Barbara of Houston, Texas and her grandchildren, Katherine Rose and Adam Chandler Holtman, also of Houston. Ruth was extremely proud of and greatly admired her grandchildren’s accomplishments. Niece Susie (Welchert) Ohnemus and nephews Jack Klues and Bill Welchert also survive.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers, Wilbur, Cletus, and Roy Klues, and sisters, Grace Luhrs and Lucille Welchert.
The immediate family wants to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to Susie and David Ohnemus, Rodney and Marjorie Heelan and Fr. Thanks are also extended to the management and staff of Bickford who cared for Ruth with respect, patience and dignity.
