Ruth Ann Smith, age 87, of Good Samaritan Home, died Saturday, July 5, 2008 in Good Samaritan Home. Ruth was born on May 27, 1921, in Edina Mo. the daughter of Joseph and Mary ( Brugenhempke) Matticks. Ruth married Woodrow Smith on May 29, 1939, in Bowling Green, Mo. He preceded her in death on November 3 of 1979. Ruth attended Quincy Notre Dame High School. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family.

She is survived by:

TWO DAUGHTERS: Phillis Lenske and her husband Greg of Elizabethton, TN and Sharon Maas and her husband Melvin of Quincy

SIX GRANDCHILDREN: Lito Hernandez and his wife Kendra; Sylvia Gouge and her husband Richard; Jennifer Collins and her husband Steve; Woody Maas and his wife Stacey; Bill Maas and Sandra Greving and her husband Dave.

12 Great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren

TWO BROTHERS: Joe Matticks and Fred Matticks and his wife Evelyn

SIX SISTERS: Mary Sohn, Doris DeHaven and her husband Jules; Sally Claus and her husband Bill; Maxine Coulson; Wanda Marczak; Jackie Gray and her husband Smoky.

Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters: Edith McAfee and Kate Veach.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2008 at 10:30 in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in New Providence Cemetery in Ursa. Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at St. Francis Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Home Eber Garden or to St. Francis Catholic Church. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
