Rozella “Rosie” Adair

Rozella “Rosie” Adair went to be with her Lord and Angels on June 16, 2016 at North Adams Home, Mendon, IL. Rosie was born on September 3, 1929 in rural Ursa, IL, a daughter of Lewis R. & Marguerite (Shaffer) Kuntz. Rosie attended one-room schools in the Ursa bottoms and Quincy Notre Dame High School. She married Jesse Adair on April 3, 1948 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He survives. They farmed together in the Ursa bottoms and were soulmates for 68 years.

Rose was active in the former Ursa Indian Grave H.E.A. and St. Edward’s Church and Altar Society.

She was a loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother and a Friend to many.

She will be greatly missed by her husband Jesse, one daughter Marla Merideth and her husband Bruce of Mendon, IL; a granddaughter, Dr. Emily Hadsall, DC, of St. Charles, MO and a son-in-law Randy (Crystal) Clair of Loraine. She is also survived by a son Greg Adair and his family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Clair.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Edward’s Church in Mendon. Interment will be in New Providence Cemetery in Ursa, IL. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Ladies of St. Edward’s, North Adams Home or Masses may be given in her name.
The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
