Rosetta M. “Rosie” Steinkamp
Rosetta M. “Rosie” Steinkamp, age 85, of 1020 Catherine Drive, Quincy, died on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at 11:15 pm in St. Vincent’s Home. She was born on December 22, 1924 in Adams County, Illinois the daughter of Frank S. & Laura K. (Huber) Bockhold. She married Elmer H. Steinkamp on September 10, 1946 in Quincy, IL at St. Francis Catholic Church. He survives. Rosie was an active member of St. Francis Catholic Church where she was an Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Ladies of St. Francis. She was a former member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she was a greeter. Rosie belonged to “Our Lady of the Angels” Seminary Guild from its opening until its closing 20 years later. Rosie was also active in the Cursillo Movement in the Quincy area.

THREE CHILDREN: Dennis Steinkamp and his wife Marcia of Quincy; Donald Steinkamp and his wife Cinda of Springfield, IL and Janet Schmidt and her husband Jan of Pueblo West, CO.
NINE GRANDCHILDREN: Nick Steinkamp and his wife Jill, Krista Clipper and her husband Don; Andrew Steinkamp; Katie Steinkamp, Ryan Steinkamp, Leigh Holstein and her husband Patrick; Jon Steinkamp; Erin Schrier and her husband Cole and Michael Schmidt.
FIVE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Allison, Jamie, Paul and Isaac Steinkamp and Logan Clipper
ONE BROTHER: Virgil Bockhold and his wife Millie
TWO SISTERS: Edna Steinkamp and her husband Richard and Mary Ann Chezem
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Sylvester, Henry and George Bockhold and two sisters: Frances McGee and Laurine Bufford.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 28, 2010 at 10:00 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:30 in St. Francis Catholic Church. Private interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church, the Blessing Foundation for Hospice or to the St. Vincent Home.
