Rosemary Kroner

Rosemary Kroner, age 88, of the Bradford Villa, formerly of 836 Santa Maria Drive, died peacefully with her family at her side on Friday, January 10, 2014 at the Sunset Home. She was born on June 25, 1925 in Mosinee, Wisconsin the daughter of Conrad and Tina (Koslowski) Martin. Rosemary was a graduate of Mosinee High School and St. Marys School of Nursing. She married Merle Frank Kroner on September 13, 1947 in Quincy, IL. He preceded her in death on November 6, 2008. Rosemary was a registered Nurse and worked at St. Marys Hospital and the Illinois Veterans Home. She was also a cadet nurse during WWII.

Rosemary was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Ladies of St. Francis. She was also a member of St. Marys Hospital Guild. Rosemary enjoyed traveling, gardening, spending time with family and loved going to the casino.

The family would like to especially thank the Blessing Hospice for the compassionate and dignified care that Rosemary received.

She is survived by:
ONE SON: Michael C. Kroner and his wife Sally of Quincy;
TWO DAUGHTERS: Susan Tournear and her husband Lenny, and Mary Ann Comer and her husband Dave all of Quincy;
SIX GRANDCHILDREN: Todd Kroner and his wife Lisa of Mendon, Michelle Douglass and her husband Josh of Kansas City, MO, Travis Kroner and his wife Crystal of Columbia, MO, Chad Comer of Nashville, TN, Ryan Comer and his wife Jaime of Black Forest, CO; Elizabeth Holt and her husband Ted of Quincy.
THREE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Jacob Kroner, Hannah Kroner, and Ava Kroner.

In addition to her husband, she is also preceded in death by her parents and a brother Philip Martin.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 10:00 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 10:30 in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Church or School or to the Quincy Humane Society.
