Rosemary Catherine Frericks OBITUARY

Rosemary Catherine Frericks age 86, of St. Vincent’s Home, formerly of 2509 Cannonball Rd. Quincy, died on Saturday, October 29, 2011 in the home. She was born March 15, 1925 in Adams County, IL, a daughter of Lawrence and Ida (Benz) Ehrhardt. Rosemary married Mathias P. “Matt” Frericks on June 30, 1945 in St. Anthony Catholic Church, he preceded her in death July 31, 2008.

Rosemary was a homemaker and had been employed as a cook at St. Dominic Grade School.
She was a long-time member of St. Dominic Catholic Church where she was a member of the Ladies of St. Dominic and the Quilter’s Club. Rosemary was a member of the Third Order of Secular Franciscans. She was a current member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Rosemary was a fabulous cook, she’ll be remembered for her homemade noodles, pies and fried chicken. She loved quilting and made quilts for her children and grandchildren that they treasure. Rosemary was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Survivors include her two daughters, Sharon Lauer and her husband Richard of Quincy; Gerri Bunch of Springfield, IL; a daughter-in-law Rita Frericks of Liberty; a brother, Lawrence Ehrhardt; a sister Joan (Marvin) Russell all of Quincy; grandchildren: Cheryl Schutte and her husband Joe of Burton, IL; Amy Lucie and her husband Adam of Basco, IL; Danny Frericks of Liberty; Karen Koenig and her husband Dana; Christine Lauer all of Quincy; Jill Lauer of St. Louis, MO; Chad Bunch and his wife Marissa of Florissant, MO; Matt Bunch of Springfield, IL;Adam Bunch and his fiancee Melissa of Chatham IL;
great grandchildren : Nicholas Koenig, Ethan and Jonathan Lucie, Aaron and Aidan Bunch; Kelsey Schutte, and Gianna Bunch.
In-Laws, Virginia (Leonard) Meyer, Dorothy Schutte, Millie Frericks, Barbara Frericks, Roberta, Phyllis and Leola Ehrhardt, all of Quincy; Sr. Clarita Frericks of Cincinnati, OH and many nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Paul Frericks, eight brothers, Walter Ehrhardt and his wife Loretta, Roger, Eugene, Bill, Andrew, James, Leo, and Tony Ehrhardt, a sister, Anna Mae Obert and her husband Donald and a sister-in-law Irene Ehrhardt.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2011
at 9:45 a.m. in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home at 10:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church
by the Rev. Thomas Hagstrom and Rev. Donald Knuffman. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home with a Secular Franciscan Wake Service at 5:30 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to St. Dominic Grade School or to the K of C T.V. Mass.

    Dear Sharon, Gerri and Family,
    I was so sorry to hear about Rose Mary’s passing. I feel really blessed that I was able to reconnect with her in the past few years. Both of your parent’s were very special to me, they were like my second set of Grandparents and my happy memories of them will live on with me. Please accept my sincere condolences.
