Rosemary B. Mayfield
Rosemary B. Mayfield, age 82, of the Good Samaritan Home, died on Tuesday, June 9, 2009 in the Home. She was born on January 13, 1927 in Keokuk, IA, the daughter of Lawrence & Helen (Juergens-Fegers) Berberet. She married Logan F. “Whitey” Mayfield on February 11, 1956 in Alton, IL. He preceded her in death on November 28, 2002. Rosemary was a homemaker whose greatest source of joy in life was her family. She also enjoyed music, playing the piano and had sung in church and for weddings.
She is survived by:
SIX CHILDREN: Jeff A. Mayfield and his wife Lori of Quincy; Amy S. Koch and her husband Glen of Mt. Sterling, IL; Tracy A. Waterkotte and her husband David of Quincy; Andrew L. Mayfield of Woodstock, GA: Nancy A. Coultas of Golden, IL: and Neil G. Mayfield and his wife Tish of Fort Worth, TX
EIGHTEEN GRANDCHILDREN: Robert Logan & Ashley Niemann, Allison Elizabeth and Luke Anthony Mayfield; Christy Susanne, Jennah Rose, Ethan Bond and Anna Noelle Koch; Rachel Suzanne, Meggie Rose, PFC Elliot David, Leah Renee and Maty Nicole Waterkotte; Matthew Lawrence, Shelby Rose, and Sophia Marie Mayfield, Gabriel Anthony Coultas, William Jacob Coultas and Derek Thomas Reichert; and Michael Adam Mayfield.
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
She was preceded in death by two brothers: Lawrence and David Berberet and 2 sisters: Eileen Hogan and Patricia Wells.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2009 at 11:30 in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and at 12:00 noon at St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, with a prayer service at 6:30 PM. Memorials may be made to Quincy Notre Dame, St. Francis Catholic Church, the Good Samaritan Home or to the Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
