Rose Mary Wright, age 72, of 927 South 8th, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 in the home of family friends at 215 Cherry. She was born on August 5, 1945 in Adams County, IL the daughter of Samuel and Edra (Tournear) Wright. She married Gearold L. Whitaker, Sr. She later married Gary Oshner. Rose Mary was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Rose Mary enjoyed listening to music; especially Elvis Presley, and she liked his movies too.
She was a St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan. Rose Mary enjoyed camping, bowling, dancing and spending time with her family, friends and her dog Leo.

She is survived by:
FOUR CHILDREN: Theresa Whitfield and her husband Ken; Gearold Whitaker, Jr.; Lonnie Whitaker; and Richard Whitaker and his fiancé Julia Shelton all of Quincy.
STEP-DAUGHTER: Paulla Wilburn and her husband Will.
FOUR GRANDCHILDREN: Kenneth ‘Lee’ Whitfield; William ‘Mike’ Whitfield and his wife Jenny; Emily Hamann; and Ashley Thomas and her husband Dwight.
GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Keegan, Jayden, and Annabelle Whitfield; Luke Hamann,
and Gavin Thomas.
STEP-GRANDCHILDREN: Rene, Lane, Jakota and Abel
STEP-GREAT-GRANDCHILD: Karcyn
Also surviving are numerous loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other relatives.

Rose Mary was preceded in death by her parents, a son Patrick Whitaker in infancy, and siblings: Wanda Gallaher, Edith Wilma Whitfield, Fred Reich, and Charlene Ruth Wright in infancy.

The family extends a special thanks to Blessing Hospice and to her friends, Tammy and Selena for caring for her during her illness.
