Roscoe Junior Allensworth
Roscoe Junior Allensworth, age 76, of Pittsfield, IL, formerly of Beverly, IL, died on Thursday, September 6, 2012 in Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield, IL. He was born on July 25, 1936 in Kinderhook, IL, the son of Floyd Roscoe & Hazel Marie (Jones) Allensworth. He married Joyce Kay Whitaker on October 5, 1957 in Plainville, IL. She survives.
Mr. Allensworth was a farmer for many years. He also later served for almost 20 years as the Beverly Township Road Commissioner. He retired due to ill health. He liked to hunt and fish and look for mushrooms. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family.

TWO SONS: Robert Allensworth and his friend Brie Bell of Beverly and Jeffrey Allensworth of Pittsfield, IL.
A SPECIAL MEMBER OF THE FAMILY: Sheoni Scranton and her husband Walter and family of Griggsville, IL.
FOUR GRANDCHILDREN: Marsha Allensworth, Tim Allensworth, Kendra Mast and her husband Greg and Kadyn Allensworth.
EIGHT GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN: Heaven, London, Aiden, Justice, Nevaeh, Leland, Ashley, Adelyn.
SPECIAL CHILDREN: Katlyn, Kirstyn, Aden and Kylee
TWO BROTHERS: Richard Allensworth and his wife Paula of Lorraine, Il and Mike Allensworth and his wife Shelly of Robinson, IL
THREE SISTERS: Pat Lair and her husband Don of Plainville, IL; Christine Apsey of Texas and Cynthia Spengler and her husband Tim of Springfield, IL
Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons: Kendall Allensworth and Gary Allensworth, a granddaughter: Melissa Allensworth, a sister Phyllis Carter, and a brother Terry Allensworth.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in New Providence Cemetery in Ursa. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Joyce, Jeff, & families…So sorry for your loss. Greg and I both thought alot of Ross and always enjoyed talking with him. Best road comissioner ever, too. We miss him still!
