Rosalie Maxine Ping

Rosalie Maxine Ping, age 92, of North Adams Home in Mendon, formerly of 602 East Cherry Street, Watseka, Illinois, died on Saturday, December 18, 2010 in the Home. She was born on November 15, 1918 in Potomac, Illinois, a daughter of Harrison Monroe and Cora Belle (Leonard) Bird. She married Harry Ping on December 24, 1947 in Danville, Illinois. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1973.

Rosalie was a homemaker. She was a member of the Disciples of Christ Church and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed playing bridge and traveling.

Survivors include:
TWO SONS: Kenneth Ping & his wife Charlene of Whitewright, TX, & David Ping & his wife Dorne of Marble Falls, TX;
ONE DAUGHTER: Teresa York & her husband Joe, of Wylie, TX;
ELEVEN GRANDCHILDREN;
TWENTY-SIX GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN;
SIX GREAT-GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN;
ONE SISTER: Christine of Champaign, IL;
SON-IN-LAW: Dennis Carter & his wife Lisa of Liberty, IL;
SISTER-IN-LAW: Pauline Clutter of Danville, IL

Rosalie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harry, two brothers, Kenneth & William, five sisters, Thelma, Lucille, Leola, Ella Jane, & Audrey, one daughter, Sharon Carter, and one grandchild, Robert Ping.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in Potomac Cemetery, Potomac, Illinois. Memorials are suggested to North Adams Home. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. www.dukerandhaugh.com
