Rosalie Joan Newton Davidson
Rosalie Joan Newton Davidson, age 85, of Fowler, IL went to be with the Lord at 1:04 a.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2017 in Blessing Hospital. She was born on February 20, 1932 in Brown County, IL, the daughter of Homer and Evelyn (Cory) Newton. On November 19, 1977, she married Archie Davidson. He preceded her in death.
Rosalie loved gardening and taking care of her yard. She was living in her home up until the day she passed away.
She is survived by one son: Larry (Glenda) Newton; one grandson, Shane (Dawn); three great-grandchildren, Shad, Shania and Chance; one sister, Martina Darnell and one brother Lyle (Margo) Newton; step grandchildren: Doug (Bev) Carper, Kevin Carper, Cathy (Ed) Oclschlager, Charles (Laura) Chidester, Cherri (Mindy) Minera. She will be greatly missed, but fondly remembered by many more extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 20, 2017at 10:30 a.m. in the Benville Church in Brown County, IL. Interment in Benville Cemetery. Friends are welcome to come help celebrate her life on Sunday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Benville Church. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
We were sorry to hear of Rosie’s passing. We were out of town at the time. I worked with Rosie for many years at Broadcast Electronics. I’m sure she will be missed by her many friends and family. Connie and I will miss her as well. She was a fine person, and a great lady. Our condolences to you all.
Larry and all of Rosalie’s extended family I just want to say how sorry I was to hear of her passing. We always had so much fun laughing and talking of older days with Granny Boss and all of the rest of our families at our annual BOSS REUNIONS in September each year. we have lost so many of our loved ones that is why our reunion just stopped. we have just a small handful at that with only the few family members left. We all laughed so much with the funny games we used to play at our reunions and talk of all of the good food we brought to share. Those are the fond memories I will always have of Rosalie. Larry and family. Prayers and sympathy to you and the family. Your Mom was a wonderful person and I asked Kay Wed, night if she had seen her. Said I was going to call her. I knew she didn’t drive anymore and I always called to see if she wanted to go to the family reunion. You and your family are always welcome too. I will try to make it to her services if I can.
