Rosa “Rollie” Lee Peters

Rosa “Rollie” Lee Peters age 99, of Quincy died on Sunday, August 14, 2022, in Blessing Hospital. Rollie was born in Quincy on October 29, 1922, a daughter of Paul and Mary (Kroeger) Gredell.
She married Henry M. Peters on April 27, 1946, in St. Francis Solanus Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2000.

Rollie was a homemaker, and she had worked at the former Motorola Company in Quincy.

She was a graduate of St. Francis Grade School and Notre Dame High School.

She was a lifelong member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Rollie prayed daily for others, faithfully praying for those included on her list.
She participated in Home Extension and church card parties.

The life of the party with a sharp memory, Rollie was always an engaging storyteller.

She loved socializing and attending her grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s activities. She was a talented crafter, painter, and crocheter. Rollie will also be remembered for her gardening and the joy it brought her.

Survivors include her three children,
Phil Peters and his wife Julie of St. Louis, MO; her twin daughters, Kathy Grussenmeyer and her husband Phil of Springfield, IL and Connie Williams and her husband Rod of Golconda, IL.

Grandchildren, Michelle Peters, Andrew Peters, Evan Peters, Jodie (Pat) O’Malley; Nickie Kamphaus; Jamie Bockenfeld; Mark (Kelsi) Kamphaus, Jr.; Sara Ellis; Shawn Ellis; and Jesse (Lucinda) Williams.

Step-Grandchildren, Philip (Sarah) Grussenmeyer; Paul Grussenmeyer; and Joe (Melanie) Grussenmeyer.

26 Great-Grandchildren, and nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Wilma Schullian and Marie Mason; a son-in-law Mark Kamphaus, Sr. and two granddaughters, Catherine O’ Malley and Elizabeth Davis.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at Duker & Haugh Funeral Home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Solanus Church.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Duker & Haugh.
Memorials are suggested to St. Francis Church, Sunset Home Assisted Living, or Masses may be given in Rollie’s memory.
