Ronald Michael Ricky Carico

Ronald Michael Ricky Carico, age 16, of Quincy, died on November 28, 2015 in the Emergency Room of Blessing Hospital. He was born on February 11, 1999 in Quincy the son of Michael and Sara (Woerman) Carico. Ronald worked at the Hy-Vee on Harrison Street. He was a Junior at Quincy Senior High School.

Ronald was on the Amos Hiatt basketball team in 8th grade in Des Moines, IA. He also loved powerlifting at Midwest Iron/Pool’s Gym in Quincy. In 2013 Ronald won his first powerlifting meet at the Iowa Regionals at the age of 13. At 14 and 15 he has won back to back state championships in Illinois. He recently accompanied his brother Nick to Las Vegas for the GPC World Championships. He loved his gym family. Ronald loved spending time with his family and had the most contagious smile.

HIS MATERNAL GRANDPARENTS: Rick & Jane Woerman;
ONE BROTHER: Nick Hardy and his wife Kristin;
THREE SISTERS: Shelbie Redd and her husband Dennis; Heather Higgenbottom and her husband Lanny and Lyndsey VanDyke and her husband Mark;
NIECES AND NEPHEWS: Brayden, Brian, Benjamin, Stella and Owen.
Numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives also survive.

Ronald was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents: Ronald and Karen Carico.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 at 11:00 Am in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Interment in St. Boniface Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the wishes of the family.

    I will always remember Ronnie, he had such a good heart, love for life, and the best sense of humor. I am honored to have been his 3rd grade teacher and Pleasant Hill will forever miss him. My deepest sympathy to you all.

    Michael & Sara — I am heartbroken to hear of Ronnie’s accident. He will always be that polite, eager young man wanting to mow my lawn on Linden Blvd. My heart aches for your family and may each of your tears reach heaven in testament to how much he will always mean to you all!
