Ronald Joseph Zanger

Ronald Joseph Zanger, age 74, of Quincy, died on Thursday, January 4, 2024 in his home. He was born on January 30, 1949 in Quincy, Illinois the son of Carlene Zanger Crawford. He married Donna Sue Brown on July 29, 1967 in Hannibal, MO. She survives.

Ron worked at Sharkey Transportation and Sisbro Inc. from 1978 until his retirement.

In addition to his wife, he is also survived by:
THREE DAUGHTERS: Deann S. Echternkamp (Donnie) of Palmyra, MO; Denise A. Wilson (Dwaine) of Durham, MO and Dena M. Nokes
GRANDCHILDREN: Tasha Echternkamp, Terri Echternkamp, Jessica Austin (Dereck), Nicholas Echternkamp (Angel Vavra), and Justine Singleton (Joey), Nikki Echternkamp; Kaitlin Chavez (Jesus), Talyr Barry (Andy) and Bradyn Nokes.
SIBLINGS: Kevin Cecil (Jan Speed), Randy Crawford (Leesa) and Shari Davis (Joe).
8 Great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

Ron was preceded in death by his mother, a grandchild Britni Leigh Wilson and siblings: Donnie Cecil and Greg Crawford.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at 9:15 AM in the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home and 10:00 AM in St. Anthony Catholic Church. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Duker & Haugh Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony Catholic Church. The Duker & Haugh Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

    Ron was a great neighbor and a great friend to me and all of my family, he will be truly missed. So sorry and my heart goes out to all of his family.

    Our sincere sympathy to the Family of Ronnie Zanger. He was a Good Classmate of mine for 12 years. He was a wonderful man who will truly be missed. We are so SORRY for YOUR LOSS. May GOD be with YOU and COMFORT YOU now.
