Ronald A. Schober
Ronald A. Schober, age 66, of Springfield, Illinois, died on Friday, December 11, 2020 at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.
Ronald was born on September 30, 1954 in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Albert and Barbara (Smith) Schober. He was reared and educated in the Springfield area, and would go on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. On July 18, 1982, Ronald was joined in marriage to Helen Bacon in Springfield.
He worked for fifteen years at the Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport in Springfield as a plane fueler. Ronald had many hobbies, but especially enjoyed time spent on the open road riding motorcycles. He adored animals and loved spending quality time with his family and friends, especially his grandkids. He was a devoted and loving husband, son, brother, step-father, step-grandfather and great-grandfather, uncle, and friend and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish Ronald’s memory are his loving wife of thirty-eight years, Helen Schober of Springfield; his parents: Albert and Barbara Schober of Springfield; four siblings: Michael (Linda) Schober of Georgia, Doug Schober of Springfield, Dave (Kim) Schober of Springfield, Janet (John) Willis of Taylorville, Illinois; six step-daughters, several step-grandkids and step-great-grandkids and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Helen and the Schober family: I am sincerely sorry for your loss. Ron always had a great sense of humor and was a true friend. May each of you find comfort in the memories he left behind and God’s promise of eternal life.
