Shar & family: we both have wonderful memories of Ron – Steve as his high school tennis coach & I with all the fun & laughter at QC. And of course my fondest memory was of ‘the birthday cake.’ We are fortunate to have known him.

Sharlene, we will always remember the good times we had at “The Back Porch Tavern”, the hog fry and the pre-hog fry parties. The booming voice at 6 A.M. “Can Jeff come out and play?” The meeting of the minds in front of the mailbox. You are in our thoughts and prayers. I was a priviledge to have such a great man as our neighbor and our friend. God Bless you and your family!

The world has lost a cool guy who really knew how to live life! How much fun were those hog roasts! Jenice, remember the year we won the badminton contest? We even got trophies. You are all in my prayers and I’m sure there will be many smiles as you reflect on all your memories. God Bless!

Wow, it won’t be the same without Ron. I’ve known him for at least 55 years. We didn’t see him very often anymore but, when we did, he still “lit it up” with his big smile. We’ll all miss him!

Having absorbed his glowing obituary, I now fully understand how Ron persevered with incredible grace during this past year. There could have been no greater or more fitting tribute than the acknowledgement of that positive impact Ron had on the lives of children and young adults.

Sharlene – even though there was far too little of it, the gift of time allowed you to express your love, bid your farewell and at the same time absorb some of that inevitable and overwhelming grief. Nonetheless, and with it being more than a Keokuk and Quincy thing and far more than a business relationship, please know that the Shelton family has you and Ron in our prayers and will always be here for you.

I am so sad that I can’t make it to the funeral. It would have been wonderful to hear all the amazing stories that people had to share. I would have loved to have met his other side of the family. If they are anything like him they must be great people. On the Taylor side you always opened your heart and made everyone feel so special. You could not be around uncle Ron without smiling and having a good time. My husband remembers the first time he met our very large family, Uncle Ron made sure he felt very welcomed! There is no one like my Uncle Ron and he will be surely missed. I will forever hear his voice and laughter. Many hugs and kisses to Aunt Sharlene and their kids love you all and pray for peace in your hearts. Amanda Bolyard
